KIWIClap

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Mindiv Solutions ("KIWIClap", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the KIWIClap app. It's written to reflect the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. By using KIWIClap, you agree to this Policy.

1. What We Collect

  • Your name, mobile number, and (optionally) your email address and profile photo.
  • Your home region, city, and suburb, used to show you relevant tasks and taskers nearby.
  • If you become a Tasker: your skills, hourly rate, service area, bio, and profile photo.
  • Job details you post or apply to: title, description, photos, location, price, and any notes you add.
  • Messages you send to another user through the app about a job.
  • Reviews and ratings you give or receive.
  • Reports you submit about content or another user's conduct, and any users you choose to block.
  • Basic technical information needed to run the app securely, such as your device's IP address when it talks to our servers.

2. How We Collect It

Directly from you, when you create an account, set up a profile, post or apply for a task, message another user, or leave a review. Your mobile number is verified by an SMS code when you sign up — that's the only identity check we carry out, and it's how we know a phone number is real and belongs to whoever is using it, not who that person actually is.

3. How We Use It

To run the app: creating your account, matching Posters with Taskers, showing job and profile details to the right people, letting you message another user about a job you're both part of, and letting you rate and review each other after a task. We also use it to keep the Platform secure — for example, to detect and limit abuse of our systems.

4. Who We Share It With

We don't sell your personal information to anyone. We share it only as needed for KIWIClap to work:

  • With other users, where the app is designed to show it — for example, a Tasker sees a job's address once they're selected, and a Poster sees a Tasker's profile, skills, and reviews when reviewing applicants. A report you submit is reviewed by us internally and isn't shared with the person you reported.
  • With service providers who help us run the app, such as our hosting provider, our SMS/authentication provider (for phone verification), and our email provider (for account and job notifications) — only to the extent they need it to provide that service to us.
  • If required by law, or to protect the safety of a user or the public.

5. Overseas Storage

Some of the service providers we use to run KIWIClap — including phone/account verification, email delivery, and cloud hosting — may store or process information on servers located outside New Zealand. Where that happens, we only use providers we reasonably believe protect your information to a standard comparable to New Zealand's, consistent with the Privacy Act 2020.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored on secured servers. We take reasonable steps to protect it against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, but no system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. You can update most of your profile directly in the app; for anything else, contact us through Help & Support or email support@mindivsolutions.co.nz. KIWIClap has a designated Privacy Officer responsible for handling these requests, reachable the same way.

8. How Long We Keep It

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards where we need to for legal, safety, or record-keeping reasons (for example, a history of completed jobs and reviews).

9. Children

KIWIClap is not intended for anyone under 18. If we become aware that we've collected personal information from someone under 18, we'll delete it.

10. If Something Goes Wrong

If we become aware of a privacy breach involving your information that's likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, as required under the Privacy Act 2020.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time — for example, as KIWIClap adds features or as our data practices change. If we make a material change, you'll be asked to review and accept the updated Policy the next time you open the app before you can continue using it.

12. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your personal information, contact us through Help & Support first so we can try to resolve it. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz) at any time.

13. Contact

Questions about this Policy, requests to access or correct your information, or reports of content or conduct that concerns you, can be sent through Help & Support in the app, emailed to support@mindivsolutions.co.nz, or sent via our contact page.
